Prioritizing Your Health

Think about the last time you experienced stress. Maybe your toddler was inconsolable, or you slammed on your brakes to avoid a car accident. Stressors like these activate the stress response—a rush of adrenaline and cortisol that prepares your body for its natural defense against danger.

Chances are, once the stressor was over, you didn't have the time to pause, reflect on what just happened, and shake it off. You probably tried to calm yourself and continued your day.

We go through life powering through moments like this without doing something that signals to our body that we are safe. We end up staying in an activated state, and this can manifest in all kinds of unpleasant health issues like anxiety, gastrointestinal problems, immune system issues, etc. 

Unfortunately, telling yourself, "You're safe," or "Calm down," or "It's no big deal," doesn't turn off the stress response. This is because the body doesn't understand rational, cognitive language - it understands the body's language, which means tuning into your body and showing your whole self that you are safe.

What can we do about it?

We must complete our stress cycle daily because we face daily stressors. There are plenty of ways to complete our stress cycle, like getting our heart rate up, engaging in creative activities, laughing, crying, and, my favorite, practicing mindfulness meditation. That's where this class comes in...

The Power of Pausing will ensure you have some time to yourself at least once a week. These mindfulness classes are designed to focus, challenge, and center the mind-body system and, most importantly, help you complete the stress cycle, translating to less exhaustion, burnout, or symptoms from chronic conditions. The group setting provides an opportunity for co-regulation.  

Each week, we'll investigate different ways to complete the stress cycle because your stress isn't just about you. It impacts your relationships, informs your responses to stressful situations, dictates how efficiently your other bodily systems work, and determines how you show up as a leader daily.

No matter your walk of life, your ability to positively impact your community starts within.

  • experiment with different mindfulness techniques you can use anytime, anywhere
  • participate in a guided meditation 
  • engage in self-reflection

FAQ: 

Will there be a recording available?

Classes are live; therefore, no recordings will be available. 

If I miss my class, will I be refunded?

No. My job as a coach is to hold you accountable.

How will I know which session I'm signing up for?

Tickets are sold roughly seven days in advance. Purchases made on Wednesday at 7:50 pm CST or later will reserve your seat for the following week. For example, if I sign up on Wednesday, March 13th, at 7:50 pm CST, I'm reserving my seat for the following Wednesday's class: Wednesday, March 20th. If I sign up on Wednesday, March 13th, at 7:30 pm CST, I'm reserving my seat for Wednesday's March 13th class and can join immediately. 

Can I pay for more than one class at a time?

If you're interested in attending class regularly without having to sign up weekly, then the Feelin' Good Membership is your best bet. Head here to learn more about this holistic health membership. 

What does "Mindfulness Class + Pay It Forward" mean at checkout?

If you wish to donate a class pass to someone in need, choose one of the "pay it forward" options. Every $5 you donate ensures that one person going through difficult times can attend class. For instance, if you select "Mindfulness Class + Pay It Forward Level 1," you will purchase your seat and donate one seat to someone in need. On the other hand, if you choose "Mindfulness Class + Pay It Forward Level 2," you will pay for your seat and donate three additional seats.

Is this included in my 1:1 coaching package?

If you selected a package that includes access to the Feelin' Good Membership, you can attend these classes weekly as long as you are enrolled. 😍
